Introduction to ARCC

...

Prerequisites

There are a few things you must have in place before you can use ARCC High-Performance Computing or Research Data Storage core services. They are:

...

An External collaborator is issued by UWIT and costs $10 as a one-time setup fee. Once the account is created then the Faculty PI can request the Collaborator to be added to their Teton project or petaLibrary allocation. You can request an External Collaborator account here: https://uwyo.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=26179.

It’s important to know that ARCC does not manage UWyo accounts, we rely on UWIT to manage these. If your UWyo account is locked out or having issues, ARCC is unable to fix problems. If you encounter problems, please contact UWIT for help. https://uwyo.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/Requests/ServiceCatalog?CategoryID=3090

Enrolled in Two-Factor Authentication

...

At ARCC we are dedicated to providing security to researchers’ projects, but want to make it as convenient as possible for them to do their work. Therefore, we must ask them to provide use two-factors factor authentication when logging into ARCC resources, while staying accessible. https://uwyo.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=62623

One of our frequently asked questions is “Do I need a smartphone to use two-factor?” No, there are three ways of using 2FA at UWYO.

  1. Use Enroll with the Duo mobile app. It’s the easiest to use and makes sense to many users who use their smartphones or tablet on a daily basis. Enroll here: https://uwyo.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=11313

  2. Purchase a YubiKey. This is a small USB device that you can press to generate your second factor. It costs $50 and can be purchased from UWIT here: https://uwyo.teamdynamix. com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=29168

  3. The minimum thing required for the two-factor is a phone number. You can enroll any landline with Duo to get your second factor like a phone call. The link to do that is the same as option 1.
