Using the Wiki_old

This page is a how-to for using and for navigating this Wiki site. Information on navigation resources and directions are provided, along with resources that will be helpful to users. In addition to these helpful tools, this page contains information related to using and copying code (examples provided), as well as what to do if the user would like to contribute information to the Wiki. Contributing to the Wiki

  • If you or someone you know has ideas or information that they believe would be beneficial to this Wiki, please contact ARCC.

Copying Code

  • When copying code commands, make sure to only copy the command. Sometimes there will be user information such as a prompt that will interfere with the code that you copy.

$ module save NAME
  • For example, with the code above, you would only copy “module save NAME“ and not the “$”.

Getting Help

  • Each page also has a link to the Glossary (you can also find the Glossary on the left-hand side menu) for commonly used research computing terms.

  • This wiki includes a Frequently Asked Questions section in case you’re having any issues.

Navigating

  • Each page includes a Table of Contents at the top so that you can click on whatever section you like and it will direct you to that section of the page.

  • On the left-hand side there is a menu which is al list of all of the wiki pages within this site, click on whichever you are wanting to look at it and it will take you to that wiki section.

  • There is also a search bar on the top right of the site that will search the entire wiki.

  • Tags - Each page contains multiple tags that you can find at the bottom right corner. These tags include keywords about the contents of the page. You can search for tags by using the search bar in the top right corner. If you click on a tag on the bottom right corner of the page, it will direct you to another page that has a collection of pages with that same tag.

  • Wiki Directory - We have created a Directory to make navigating this site easier for you. It shows all the pages contained on the site as well as all of the subject headers so you can find what you’re looking for under the corresponding alphabetical letter of the subject.
