The Data Curation area is another storage area on Alcova, further , split into two sub-areas. The first sub-area is called Publications. This is a space for storing and presenting research materials, data, and documentation on the Internet. All data stored here is publicly available for download, and cannot be changed once published. There is no charge for any data stored in Publications as long as it meets UWyo publication criteria. The second sub-area is called Archive. This space is called “cold storage”, meaning it contains unpublished data that is no longer part of an active research project but is still valuable to the research community. Data stored in Archive may not be modified but may be retrieved or transferred to Project for modifications.
