ARCC Researchers,
ARCC is services will be undergoing substantial upgrades in the coming months. We are in the process of making our new HPC cluster (working name: Thunderer) and data storage (data.arcc.uwyo.edu), available for ARCC users. Storage at data.arcc.uwyo.edu will be available beginning June 1, 2024. These changes are intended to expand compute and storage capabilities beyond our infrastructure. You may read more about the upgrade hereworking name: Data) system available for ARCC users. These new systems will eventually replace our existing systems, Beartooth and Alcova.

The important dates are:
June 1st, 2024
New storage system “Data” to be generally available for use.
ARCC will being working with users to begin migration from Alcova to “Data.”
New HPC cluster “Thunderer” enters beta testing.
July 1st, 2024
New HPC cluster “Thunderer” becomes generally available to all UWyo researchers.
ARCC will begin working with users to migrate from Beartooth to Alcova, including invested hardware.
August 1st, 2024
Alcova data should be migrated to new storage system.
December 15th, 2024: All Investment nodes and project data currently hosted on Beartooth must be migrated to the new cluster.
In an effort to make the migration transition as smooth as possible, we ask that migrations are requested or completed existing projects migrate or request assistance by the following dates:
July 1st, 2024: Data currently hosted on Alcova should be requested and scheduled for migration.
August October 1st, 2024: Alcova data should be migrated to data.arcc.uwyo.edu.December 15th, 2024: All Investment nodes and project data currently hosted on Beartooth must be migrated to the new cluster. Deadline for projects in Beartooth to begin migration
