Alcova 

Overview

Alcova is a highly collaborative space geared toward project-oriented data storage for use by UWYO research groups and their collaborators. 

To provide users with a seamless computing experience, Alcova is connected to the UWyo network for blazing-fast transfer speeds starting at 40 Gbps, to Teton at 100 Gbps via EDR Infiniband, and through Globus Online to our Scientific DMZ at 100 Gbps. The service is designed and operated such that access to data in the Project should be limited only by the receiving endpoint or intervening network connections, not the UW infrastructure. Thus, UW researchers will be able to share (and/or host) research data via a service that provides world-class speeds.

To provide enhanced collaboration and control, Principal Investigators may assign access permissions to other UWyo users or external users.

Connecting to Alcova

Alcova can be accessed from any of the three primary OS families using their standard tools:
(Note: off-campus users will need to establish a VPN connection using Pulse Secure first.)

Globus

The Globus endpoint name for Alcova is ARCC Teton and is accessible from the path /alcova.

Access from Teton

Alcova is accessible from the Teton compute cluster at speeds up to 100 Gbps. You can access homes or common by changing directory to /alcova.
