Pulse Secure - Windows/Mac

Overview

This doc covers installing or reinstalling the Pulse Secure client on Mac and Windows 10 computers as of August 2022.

Chrome was used for this doc, but the steps should largely work with Firefox or Safari. Also, there is more than one way to complete this install. The instructions herein are the shortest path.

Downloading and Installing the Pulse Application Launcher:

  1. Using a web browser, go https://wyosecure.uwyo.edu.

    1. Enter your UWyo username and password and click ‘Sign In’:

    2. WyoSecure will challenge you for a second factor authentication (see here for more info about two factor authentication).

    3. Select the option that works best for you and follow the instructions.

  2. Once you’ve completed the second factor, the page below will come up:

    1. Click ‘Start’

  3. The browser will show the “Searching for the application launcher” window.

    1. Since this is a new install or reinstall, go ahead and click ‘Download’:

  4. The Chrome browser will pop up a download progress sub-window along the bottom of the browser window (don’t close this window):

  5. Once the download completes, find the “click HERE” and click on ‘HERE’. Do not follow the other instructions on IT’s page!

  6. Agree to the various dialog windows that pop up.

    1. In Windows, the Pulse Secure will appear in your system tray.

    2. In OSX, the Pulse Secure will appear in the right half of the menu bar.

  7. Repeating steps 1 and 2 and clicking ‘Start’ will now launch Pulse Secure.

    1. From OSX you can connect using the icon in the Menu bar.
