You request a lot of information in your checklist. Is this all really necessary?

Workshops frequently entail multiple users accessing the cluster at once. Since all of these users perform the same or similar activities at the same time, they often require the reservation of a large amount of a single type of resource or specific types of resources, which need to be planned for accordingly to assure those resources will be available at the times required.

In addition, many workshops require the use of specific software. If the software is not presently available on the cluster, it must be installed, which takes additional time and resources to confirm compatibility, configure and test.

What is an external collaborator?

External collaborators are usually individuals with no UW affiliation who will be assisting or administering the training. They are often from industry or other institutions. Because we need to coordinate with other UW entities to facilitate their access to the cluster, we prefer to have their information up front to begin the process of account creation and verification of security.

I don’t know how to answer the questions from the checklist.
