Support for NWSC

Overview

NWSC has several supercomputing resources available to UW Researchers. These include:
Casper, Cheyenne, and their newest supercomputing resource, Derecho, available to users as of August 9, 2023. NWSC users should be aware that NWSC would like to encourage the migration of users from Cheyenne and Glade-2 storage to Derecho, and users may request assistance with their transitions by e-mailing help@ucar.edu or through their service portal at: https://ithelp.ucar.edu/plugins/servlet/desk/site/rc

UW ARCC Support on NWSC:

UW ARCC will provide “best efforts” support to all UW researchers accessing NWSC resources. If you plan to use NWSC for HPC resources, please be aware that UW ARCC’s Beartooth cluster can be used as a testing platform before moving to NWSC resources, like Derecho. Contact us at arcc-help@uwyo.edu or fill out a request in our service portal if you would like to create an project allocation for testing on Beartooth. UW ARCC support for NWSC includes troubleshooting initial access issues, migration assistance from UW ARCC resources to NWSC HPC resources, collaborating with NWSC Technical Support when applicable, and other requests as needed.

NWSC also provides technical support for their supercomputing resources, and users are encouraged to work with them as needed.
