MedicineBow using WildIris Portal (ARCC-account)

Initial Account Creation and Passwords

Upon creation of your account on MedicineBow as an arcc external user account, you will receive an e-mail asking you to update your ARCC external account with a password update. This e-mail with account update capabilities expires after a few days as indicated in the e-mail.

Click on the link in this e-mail. You will be taken to a page to update your cluster password:

Click the link to proceed:

you will need to create a new password for your cluster account and you will be prompted to enter it two times in the text boxes provided. You must submit your new password with the same password in both boxes to proceed.

After updating your password, you should see this page indicating your account has been updated successfully.

At this point, you should be able to go to the medicinebow.arcc.uwyo.edu login page and click on the option at the bottom for WildIris (non-uw account) users.

Setting up Two Factor

After logging in with the username you are provided and the password you’ve just created, you will be directed to set up 2 factor using a Mobile Authenticator. Follow the instructions on the page to set up 2 factor authentication.

  1. Make sure any of the following 2 factor authentication apps is installed on your mobile device:

    1. Duo Mobile

    2. Microsoft Authenticator

    3. Google Authenticator

    4. Free OTP

  2. Open your preferred application on your mobile device

  3. Depending on your preferred application, scanning the QR code through the application may be slightly different. Individual instructions per authenticator app are expandable below:

 

a. Click the + Add option to add a new account.

b. Choose the option to Use QR Code (usually at the top).

 

a. Click on the + button as shown in the screenshot to add a new account in Microsoft Authenticator:

Depending on whether you’ve previously set up 2 factor in the google authenticator app, you will see one of two options. If you’ve never set up an account before, you should see this screen and can select “Scan a QR code” to begin setting up your account:

If you have previously set up accounts in google authenticator you’ll see a screen similar to the one shown below. To set up a new account, click the rainbow + button at the bottom of your screen:

Choose the option to scan a new QR code.

 

  1. Scan the QR code displayed on the Mobile Authenticator Setup screen after you logged into the cluster.

  1. Once scanned in, your account is saved in the app as ARCC External: <your username>.

  2. On the cluster 2 factor setup screen on your computer, type in the code provided in the application for this account in the One-time code * textbox.
