Moran Node Retirement

Moran Node Retirement

Overview:

ARCC Infrastructure tentatively plans to retire the following Moran compute nodes beginning October 16th, 2023.

This is being done to vacate space for the installation of newer hardware on ARCC’s next HPC cluster. Beginning Monday October 16th,  moran nodes m001 through m200 on the Moran partition, and all moran-bigmem and moran-hugemem will be taken offline and removed.

Any compute jobs to be performed on these nodes will need to be completed before the Monday the 16th.

Please contact us at arcc-help@uwyo.edu or through our service portal if you have any questions or concerns.

Tentative Change Schedule:

  • Current: Moran nodes m001 through m200 on the Moran partition along with moran-bigmem partition and moran-hugemem partition nodes will no longer accept new jobs.

  • 10-16-23: Moran nodes are expected to have no new jobs running. ARCC Infrastructure will begin taking these nodes offline and they will be physically removed from Beartooth.
